Fullness - His in Me
"For in him all the fullness of God's nature dwells bodily, and in him you were made full, who is the head of all principality and power; ...." Colossians 2:9-10 NHEBAfter encouraging the Colossians not to take their pattern for living from the world's ways, the "why" is given. Remember these encouragement's to live a life which brings glory, is laced in this passage with the power to do what is encouraged.
The "why" we are to live in another mind-set, and the empowerment to live in that mind-set is because in Christ Jesus the fullness (or completeness) of God's nature dwells bodily in Him. Remember when the Lord was resurrected, his physical body was raise. He still has that immortal, incorruptible body and is living in it in the heavenlies.
Now the next step which we usually do not quite make - "...and in him you were made full, who is the head of all principality and power." We have that same fullness. WOW! That is over the edge! Me? You? Yes! We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, literally the body of Christ that contains this fullness of the nature of God!
Our inclusion in Christ is completed. "We are as He is in this world." 1 John 4:17. When we began to believe what is written, we will begin to live what is written.
No wonder we are expected to raise the dead! OK, I'm going to stop now and let some of this sink in.
