It Is For Freedom

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1 NIV
Today is Independence Day for these United States. I thank our Lord for her and for our freedoms the Lord has secured. I am thankful for the willing sacrifice of many young lives through the years to obtain and protect family and home.

But  most of all I am thankful to our Lord Jesus for the sacrifice he made for all people for all time. I am thankful to Him for the blood that continually cleanses  from all unrighteousness and releases into the joy of the inheritance of light. As we in the US celebrate and are mindful of those fallen for country and family, may we remember that our Lord has forever set us free in our hearts and released us into eternal life through His sacrifice.

May we not succumb to the idol worship of any nation, but rather in gratitude realize we have been born or placed in our particular country as a missionary for the Lord Jesus and the Kingdom of God. May we remember that our state, commonwealth, government and citizenship are in heaven and as ambassadors of reconciliation, may we in thankfulness and graciousness love and send forth the message of forgiveness, inclusion and the gift of righteousness to all - everywhere.  It is for freedom that we have been set free! May the freedom our Lord Jesus purchased and gives to us not go unnoticed or be unfruitful. Even in our celebration of the day!
